I’m not trying to sound pretentious but man there are A LOT OF REALLY AWFUL TATTOOERS out in the world. And it’s sad because of this tattoo boom people care more about price and the meaning behind their tattoo that they do not even look at our portfolios. I was stuck in an over saturated area for so long that I had to drop my prices to compete and I felt like a whore. I don’t mind taking care of my good clients but I am sorry I no longer own the shop I give a cut of the tattoo to my boss and we are in a city. A city that pays city prices. I know some of you have been upset by my prices going up but you are just paying what you should have been paying all along, that’s the problem with all the apprentice factories you are just training your competition and driving the prices down. My tattoos are worth what I charge, not cocky just put my heart into them. A wise man once said something to me ” smivee they never remember the times you gave them a good deal but they never forget the time you don’t!!” look at your tattooers work. It’s going on you forever. Everyday someone complains about the price they are nice enough to pull their shirt off to show us the tattoo they got for $50 and every time OX says ” it looks like you paid $50” their response is always the same ” I think it looks pretty good for $50” WHY SETTLE FOR PRETTY GOOD PAY FOR PERFECTION!!!!!!

I sold the shop and have moved on. So if you go get tattooed there I have nothing to do with the shop anymore. Here are some faq’s hopefully this will answer them.

Why did you sell the shop?
As cheesy as this sounds I sold it because it was time to move on. I spent my entire tattoo career there and I stopped loving the spot . There are way too many shops in the area and clients started to treat the craft like a used car lot, they never even looked at my portfolio it was all about price, I could no longer sell a great tattoo at such a cheap price to keep up with all of the average and below average tattooers in the area. I love my clients but it was time
Will you tattoo your old clients?
Of course I will I hope you all find me. I am already booked up for march thanks to my loyal clients finding me!!
Will you honor loyalty gift certificates?
I’m sorry but no. The new owners have had it since dec 1 so they received the money from your purchase and it’s not fair to my boss or me to have to eat that money. A few people have gotten upset but really you should have used it in the year you were hanging on to it, I posted numerous times on Facebook that I was leaving and to come use your gift certificates, the new owners will honor them, sell them to someone abc bring the cash to Montclair!!
Another issue is pricing, some people have been upset about new prices and I am going to be completely honest with you, our prices at loyalty were REALLY LOW in the tattoo world the 10 shops ran the prices into the ground and it forced everyone in the area to drop prices because MOST clients would leave to save a buck despite the quality difference. I also owned the shop and kept 100% of what I made So I could drop prices And still make out. Jinx proof is an awesome shop with a great reputation, it is in a city and they get paid the RIGHT prices, people that come in do so for quality and they are willing to pay it. My boss sets the prices at the shop.. So I have to adhere to them if you are a regular I let him know Abd he prices accordingly, he also takes in to consideration your travel but the price is the price, I hope you understand I am not ripping you off like a few people have said to me haha. I now give half of what I make to the shop, I have to feed my family and pay my bills and I am only raising them to fair market prices.. You were lucky to get Kenvil prices for a long time!! I hope this clears stuff up, I hope to see you all soon. I am booking fast so if you want to get it get in soon I am now booking for April! Thanks everyone for your patience and no I won’t talk about the new owners and what they are doing to the shop it’s their shop they are cool dudes and they have a different vision and I really hope they do good.
